Cool, clouds, showers

Not looking too good in the weather department for tommorow as another front moves onto the coast. Murky clouds will continue to uplift off the coast, cooler than normal tempetures will continue through the week. A fairly signifcant system Wednesday will begin off the gulf of Alaska.

A cool upper trough of low pressure will persist over the south coast mountains today maintaining cloudy skies and scattered showers.

A very weak ridge of high pressure will develop over the region Monday bringing a slightly drier day.

Late Spring Storm

A 990 millibar low is developing offshore and will approach later today / early tonight from the southwest. Ahead of the low southeast winds are forecast to develop off the west coast of Vancouver Island this morning rising to storm force this evening. By this evening, precipitation is expected through the Inner South coast as well good alpine snow accumulations overnight.

Looking at the long range models for the next week looks like something we should see in early April. A low in the Gulf of Alaska will send in cold air from the west, northwest by Monday, and some more snow for the Alpine.

A weakening front will spread cloud over the south coast today. A ridge will rebuild over southern BC on Thursday. Conditions will remain at least to Sunday when things fall apart again. Enjoy spring while it's here.
